Which waves will reach your Island first? The larger or smaller waves?

The smaller waves would hit my Island first. The reason is that they move faster & they don't get to far of the ocean surface like the larger waves would. This way the waves would move with the currents of the ocean.

Which waves will begin slowing down farther form shore when thy reach your Island? Explain your Reasoning.

The larger waves would begin to slow down faster because once they reach or touch the bottom of the ocean floor they begin to slow down, tilt, then fall over. So in this case the larger waves would slow down faster.

How do largest waves approaching your island affect the water at the surface of the ocean?

It affects the surface of the water because it has a plunging breaker, and because the ocean has a steep bottom surface. The temperature would be colder because you have the waves coming and the winds would make is colder. You always have the temperature from underneath the surface of the water that doesn't get and sunlight, which would make the water colder. It would be really salty because all the winds and the waves would stir up all the salt that floats around in the ocean. Since the waves are really big and are plunging breaker waves they would penetrate my Island bad but it really wouldn't effect it that bad.
